Hip arthroplasty is a surgical manipulation that involves the replacement of the affected joint elements with artificial components to return motion and relieve pain. The most common indications for prosthetics are deforming osteoarthritis, but conditions such as nonunions in the femoral neck, fractures in the femoral neck in old age or intraarticular osteoporotic fractures, when osteosynthesis is unsuccessful, are also treated with this surgery. During the operation, the orthopedist replaces the damaged acetabulum and the femoral component of the joint with elements of endoprosthesis. There are different ways of fixing the components of the endoprosthesis, but the choice of method is up to the attending physician, who will clearly assess the situation and determine the optimal one.
We use prostheses of firms which have proved themselves in the world market, such as: DePuy Synthes (USA), Waldemar Link (Germany), MedActa (Switzerland). After the operation, the patient is under the control of a doctor and begins his rehabilitation, is engaged in physical therapy and after discharge from the clinic returns to everyday life.
